The August AAFC Outlook for Principal Field Crops is available. The report estimates flax production for 2022/23 to be 420,000 tonnes. The carry out stocks are expected to remain tight. Exports are estimated to be 350,000 tonnes, up from exports of 285,000 tonnes in 2021/22. Markets for flax are in flux with China demand likely to be lower, US will be a strong market, and the EU uncertain for Canadian flax. To read the Bulletin click here.
