The May Canada Outlook for Princiapal Field Crops from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada reflects the Statistics Canada estimated seeded area for flax. The seeded area for spring 2016 is estimated to decrease by 32 percent from 2015. The estimated lower production will result in a lower carry-out for flax into the 2016-17 crop year and may help flaxseed price rise. To read the full May report click here.
