Flax Fiber in the World
World Fiber Production
Production of flax fiber is between 500,000 and 700,000 tonnes worldwide. Most fiber flax is grown in China, Belarus, Belgium, Egypt, France, Russia, Netherlands and the Ukraine. Oilseed flax (also known as linseed) is produced for the oil extracted from its seeds and is mainly grown in Canada, India, Argentina and the USA.
