Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has released the August report, Canada: Outlook for Principal Field Crops. For 2016-17 Statistics Canada has estimated flaxseed production of 576,000 tonnes. Although production is down, the higher carry-in stocks are still expected to result in a build up of domestic supplies. Exports may recover to previous levels due to Chinese demand and lower Kazakhstan and Russian supplies. For the full AAFC August report click here.
